In October 2018, the Lebanon Foundation in partnership with the City of Lebanon became a designated Main Street program through the Pennsylvania Downtown Center (PDC) and PA Department of Community and Economic Development’s (DCED) Keystone Communities Program.
Main Street is a comprehensive, community-based approach to revitalizing downtowns and central business districts, which has been applied across the United States since the early ’80s. PDC serves as the official State Coordinating Program for Main Street, while the DCED provides funding and management of Main Street in Pennsylvania.
Being a designated Main Street helps in Lebanon’s efforts for revitalization in our downtown by providing technical assistance, business trainings and funding opportunities. We hope to continue to educate members of the community on our past, current and future initiatives for Downtown Lebanon and to recruit volunteers to serve on our five Main Street Committees: organization, design, economic vitality, promotion and safe clean and green.
